The Past Three Months

I just had to add this one.  Notice Andrew in the background?  I've been laughing about this picture for months.

As always, the annual Balloon Fiesta was amazing.  Best of all were the fireworks (of course).

Deann became an official pilot for NASA.  She would be up in space right now were it not for her size and some political stuff about the program that I haven't been paying attention to.

This is the last bit of our summer harvest.  Overall this bunch included over 150 pounds of tomatoes, 30ish pounds of chili and 5ish pounds of garlic (not seen hear) for the whole year, our tomato intake was something like 300 pounds+.  Needless to say our freezers are stuffed full with a malicious stock of produce that enjoys ambushing us every time we open the door.
Halloween!  This is my hair style...
...and this is Alex's.  He was Calvin from the comic strip.  The costume worked great until the sun came up and the world was blinded by the bleached blondness.
One of the biggest changes was made to Josh's teeth.  Yup, braces! he he he

Then came December.  With temperatures in the freezing seventies and the marvelous tradition of making gingerbread houses!  Or graham cracker houses.

This wonderful creation is an airplane complete with two gold plated engines.  It can even fly!  Once...into the ground...the passengers didn't make it.
Deann and Eva made a train.  I don't know if you can tell but we lost one of our own...Gingi met his maker when he couldn't get of the tracks in time.

Alex made his own version of the Boise, Idaho temple.

And this is mine.  If you ever doubted how nerdily awesome I am, here is some proof.  This is my version of The Globe Theatre during a production of King Lear.  No it's not my favorite play but so many of my players died in the oven, it was the first thing that came to mind.  Can you guess what scene this is?
Hear you can kind of see the front of the theatre.  It took forever to find all the brown mm's I needed.

Dad made a Pagoda this year. Naturally it looked awesome but there is no picture so you'll just have to use your imagination. To help you, had two levels, a koy pond (my idea) some trees in the garden and a lion/dragon thing on top.
To close, we have some funny pictures to keep you laughing through the new year.

There was a face in our dinner one night.  I'll leave it up to you to decide whether the man in the ravioli is happy to be so delicious or begging us not to eat him.

Alex's teacher found this in his file during Parent Teacher Conference. I move that we call him "ander" from now on.

All new mexican's will cringe at the site of this label.  Don't worry this container of jalapenos only may contain jalapeno peppers.  Apparently there is a chance you wont melt your brain if you take a bite out of one.

And so concludes this excess of pictures and sad attempt at wit.  All in all it's been a good year with some big changes.  I graduated high school and started college.  Passed my first semester, thank goodness, got a job.  Josh got braces.  Alex's head looks like Guy Fietti's.  Eva and Deann...same.  Mom and Dad...same.  The world...well it didn't end on Friday.

Happy Christmas and Merry New Year!!

  2. Those are great, Anna! I second Wave's comment. I am impressed with your "gingerbread" making. And that picture of Andrew made me giggle too. :)
